How do you organise your books?
By colour?
In a big stack?
Or just all over the place?
my books are totally everywhere. i have a bookshelf, but its mainly for books i've read a long time ago or books i don't generally like. if i have a series of books, they are pretty much never together (i wish they were sometimes because it would save a lot of time looking) even so, this system works dammit!
i kinda put them in size order (which i guess is really different)..
Because i don't really have a bookshelf i put them in this sort of cupboard thing and there are some in the front and some in the back. My harry potter, twilight series and jodi picoult books go in the front because they're my favourite. I also put my newer books and the books that i want to read in the front. But i go to the library a lot :)
And some really, really yummy expensive chocolate's to top it off :)
big comfy couch... a box of tissues for wehn you read sad books... and hours and hours of reading time...
dream come true... :)
and a huge blazing wood fire... and hot chocolate... :)
I have always wanted one of those great libraries (not necessarily big) but really high with the ladder that swings around. hhmmmmmmmmmm......maybe circular, with the perfect reading chair ...
I used to organise my books alphabetically by author in a way that could almost (but not quite) be called 'obsessive.' However times have changed ever since my book shelf proved itself unable to accommodate beyond 'M' so now I've just squashed as many in the shelf as I can and put the rest in mountainous piles around my room.
After seeing the 'by colour' picture though, I think the order might change yet again :D
I don't own many books. I actually own about 3. He he. But I am a library nerd so I just borrow books from there.
I tried to put them in alphabetical order but that didn't work, so I just put the series' together and slotted the single books in wherever I could fit them. XD
my books were once (a long time ago) in order but now they are just jammed in any way they fit and the book i get of the book shelf usually hang around my room till i clean it and put it back.
I just full on chuck my books on the floor!!!!!!!!!

Once upon a time there were in alphabetical order by author's surname, but then I kind of got sick of shuffling all the books along to fit another one in so it gets kinda random towards the end!
Mr. Me i am disgusted! if you have NO books that would be abnormal. too many books is good, how coll would it be having too many books!!! i have a lot but there are so many more i want to read or wish i owned!
Yes, i do organize my books. But, i have them in alphabetical order, by author. All 33, soon to be 34 possibly 35. If i can convince my mother to buy me 2 instead of 1. I'm hoping.
your not normal if you have that many books!

Well my books end up either semi-neatly ordered on my book shelf, neatly ordered on the small amount of shelf space on my desk or in piles next to my bed because a.) I am reading them or b.) there's no room anywhere else.
under my bed, under the desk, on the desk, on the shelves, in bags, under my pillow... whereever there is spare room, books will end up there.
share books however, are aphabetical by athour
well... i have two book shelves... but they filled up a while ago...
so if you cross the bottom two, you may have a slight idea what my room looks like.
my bookshelves are neat, all in alphabetical by author (yes it's nerdy, but it wasn't like this until people started borrowing books from me, and I got sick of looking for them).
then, i have a pile of about 50 books next to that, teetering higher and higher, it leans against the bookshelf so that it doesn't fall over.
then, underneath my desk, there are piles of all my school books and books that I don't want to put in my pile, don't want Mum to find, or have borrowed from somebody, and just don't feel like reading yet.
then, on my bedside table is yet another stack of books... ones that I'm reading... or are for school... or have recently just read, and haven't migrated to either afore mentioned piles or bookshelf.
I usually keep library books on my bed side table so not to confuse them, and get in trouble with... authorities.
then, (i'm nearly done i swear) if there are too many library books for my bed side table, they go in a pile on the floor near my bed, and are carefully shoved under my bed when mum comes in to see how everything is looking.
also, i'm sure if you looked in my cupboard, school bag, under my bed, in the doona, the playroom, pantry, anywhere really... you'll find a book of some form in my house.
Hehe, colour. I organize my books by what looks good on the shelf...library books I just shelf in a big heap.
in theory, my book are meant to be on the bookshelf in whatever order works best. what actually happens, is that they end up in moderately neat piles in the small amount of clear floorspace left in my room... its a bit sad really...
