Sooo, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell was voted as the best Young Adult Fiction book in the 2013 Goodreads Choice Awards. But I already knew it was brilliant, so here's 5 reasons to read Rainbow Rowell's new book, Fangirl:

File 179881. It is a book about being a writer - the study, the anguish, the sillies, the delights...

2. ...and the fanfic.
'I don't have a weird thing with Simon Snow*,' Cath said. 'I'm just really active in the fandom.'

3. The bubble of happiness that is Levi.

4. The adorable cover comic - by Noelle Stevenson, who is made of rainbows and funny and awesome.

5. It was runner-up in the 2013 Goodreads Choice Awards. (Yup - Rainbow Rowell took first AND second place!)

Are you a Rainbow Rowell fan? Or did a different book make your top read of 2013?

*a fictional book series within the world of Fangirl. May bear certain resemblences to Harry Potter.

The sad news is that Fangirl is not published in Australia, so the best way to get your hands on a copy is from an online bookseller, or by asking your library very nicely if they can get a copy. Only 8 public libraries have a copy of this book so far:
