Meet the 2012 Inkys Judges: Elizabeth
An avid reader; science nerd; teddy lover; procrastinator; op-shopper; and current affairs watcher.

What was your favourite book as a child?
I had so many! When I was very young, I especially loved Enid Blyton’s novels, and when I grew a little older my very favourite was Robin Klein’s The Listmaker (in fact, I still love it!)
What's a book that made you cry?
Little Women. That moment when (SPOILER!) Beth dies had me sobbing for days...
A book that made you laugh?
P.G. Wodehouse’s The Code of The Woosters. Quite possibly the funniest book ever written. Dry, unpretentious wit and parody – a must read for everyone!
What are you currently reading?
The Queen of the Night. It’s the sequel to This is Shyness, which I loved, so I’m expecting great things from this book!
What’s your favourite reading place?
Lying on my bed, with a mountain of pillows behind me and a cup of tea beside me…
Who is the author you’d most like to meet? (Living or dead.)
Jane Austen. At some point at the meeting, I would like to conveniently appropriate her brain.
Favourite book-to-film adaptation?
Roald Dahl’s Matilda: although they completely change the ending (grr – one of my pet peeves), I just love the visual manifestation of Miss Trunchball.
On a quiz show, your special subject would be:
Regency England (I’ve read so many Georgette Heyer novels and books from the time, I sometimes feel as though I’ve lived through it!)
And what are you generally doing when you're not reading?
The implication being that there are times when I’m not reading? Well, if you insist…
I’m generally studying, watching obscure films, indulging my reality television & Eurovision vice, or doing something crafty.
