Meet the 2012 Inkys Judges: Joe
Books can be everyone's friends like they are Joe's - reading and writing books are a key part of his spare time.
What was your favourite book as a child?
My favorite childhood book is Buffy - a picture book by Bob Graham.
What's a book that made you cry?
Awakened (House of Night, book 8). It was really sad when (SPOILER!) Jack, one of my favorite characters, died.
A book that made you laugh?
December Moon by Suzy Turner.
What are you currently reading?
I am currently re-reading the House of Night series and novellas for only-god-knows how many times. Definitely my favorite book series.
What’s your favourite reading place?
I like to read in my room on my bed - it is extremely comfortable, and a great place for my imagination to be free.
Who is the author you’d most like to meet? (Living or dead.)
I would really like to meet P.C. and Kristin Cast, the author's of the House of Night series.
On a quiz show, your special subject would be:
My special subject would have to be kids' movies, because at heart I'm still a kid and always will be. We never really grow up, we just learn how to act in public.
And what are you generally doing when you're not reading?
I don't know a time when a book I'm reading or writing isn't on my mind, however when I'm not reading I am doing what other teenaged boys do: playing video games, chilling with friends, watching movies. Mostly I like to write books, or think about what I can put into something I'm writing. Books, poems, songs... it's all the same to me, there is always a story behind a poem as there is a message in a song.
