It's the last week of getting to know our judges! All too soon they will be battling it out for which books they think are best. TO THE DEATH!  ...Oh? Not to the death? To the pain? ... No, not that either? Well. Battling it out, anyway.
With wit.
And words.
Aaaand sweat.

At 18 years of age Michelle is the Elder of this year's judges. She's a Beatles obsessed book blogger and journalism student, who is never able to resist the urge to buy more books.

Michelle, what was your favourite book as a child?

I absolutely loved Molly Moon’s Incredible Book of Hypnotism.

What's a book that made you cry?

Definitely Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. So many heartbreaking things happen in that book, but I remember just sitting there and sobbing when *SPOILER* Dobby died.

A book that made you laugh?

It’s an adult book, but I loved Sophie Kinsella’s Can You Keep a Secret? I laughed so hard I actually ended up having an asthma attack and a massive coughing fit. It’s definitely great to read if you’re feeling a bit down.

What are you currently reading?

File 15780File 15777I always have a few books on the go. Right now I’m reading Haze by Paula Weston, Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham, and Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

What’s your favourite reading place?

In my uni dorm it’s my bed, but at home it’s the couch.

Who is the author you’d most like to meet? (Living or dead.)

I’d love to meet J.K. Rowling, she’s such an inspiration and an absolutely amazing writer.

Favourite book-to-film adaptation?File 15786File 15788

Definitely Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Splitting it into two movies was the perfect way to stay true to the book.

On a quiz show, your special subject would be:

The Beatles.

And what are you generally doing when you're not reading?

My life tends to revolve around storytelling in one form or another. I’m studying journalism at uni and if I’m not reading to relax, I’m generally watching one of my favourite TV shows.
