What's the plan? What's the power?

Okay so here's the plan for MONGREL 7:

Each of those little 'window' pictures represents a page - for MONGREL i've been using a really standard 4 panel per page structure (though i'm up for busting out of this, oh yes, I'm no slave to this rhythm, oh no). SO at the moment the issue is planned to have three scenes - 3 pages then 2 pages then 3 pages. This will almost certainly change as we get more details on things.

Having said this, I've realised that the previous issue, MONGREL 6 (which I'm inking at present) is pretty much one scene - the location changes, but the characters move us TO those different locations. It's basically one shot. I would like there to be more defintite breaks between one scene and the next in issue 7.

Also, as MONGREL is a 12 issue series, issue 7 means we are moving into the second half of the series. I would like this issue, even subtly, to announce that we are moving into new territory.  In the first six issues, the world of the story has been recognisably ours (London, Melbourne, Adelaide, Albury, Renmark) and not too fantastical - yes, it seems like maybe this hoax person Ern Malley might perhaps be real, but the MONGREL world might well be our world. It's time to turn up the volume on the strangeness.

One idea I've been toying with is that the Expats (in this issue, David and Clive)  have superpowers of some kind. I would like to introduce those powere in this issue. I'd like you to let me know what powers they should have.  They're both writers in their 70s: what would be useful? Levitation? Invisibility? Getting up from the seated position without rupturing something? Let me know. Seeing them exercise this ability could even be the big reveal at the end of the issue...

I'll leave you with a couple of panels from a previous issue:

Invisibilty would be good as you can sneak up on people when they least expect it and do things without getting caught!

Able to read minds of people, but it takes a lot of energy.

I think invisibility would be useful for a investigator-y type of person in that time... but at the same time, that might make things way too easy? Maybe not invisibility, but a kind of camouflage? So that it takes effort and has the potential to screw up? Because that would be more adventurous I think. And you need another, huh? Umm.... What about a kind of psychological power? Maybe being able to put ideas into people's heads, if temporarily, or something... I donno. That's all I've got ^^
