RE: Refugee Boy
Life is not safe for Alem. His mother is Eritrean and his father is Ethiopian. Both Ethiopia and Eritrea are fighting for the border between both of their countries. Alem’s father has to make the hardest decision of his life.
Where can he go that is safe for Alem? It is time for Alem to start his amazing journey. From asylums to foster care parents, where else can he go? Is Alem going to fit in this culture? Are they going to judge him because he has different coloured skin? What will happen to Alem?
I recommend this book for ages 12 and up, it is a really well written book but it is very sad. If you are not particularly fond of sad books than this probably isn’t your type of book.
Get ready to face the events that will unfold in Alem’s life. This book is an amazing novel for older readers, I really enjoyed it and I loved finding out the truth about what happens to refugees and what a refugee is. It is a novel but it can teach many useful things if you let it. I rate this book 4 ½ stars. As I said before great book and I recommend that you read it.
