Is it cheesy to say 'Scott Westerfeld has done it again'? Well, tough. Scott Westerfeld has done it again. This book has the kind of awesomesauce that only he can produce. I'm not a vampire fan - not after a series that will not be mentioned. But I think this book brings back a little love. Not a lot. I found the characters realistic, and with all the science-y facts weaved in, the whole story kinda seemed realistic. There were many hair-raising moments, and that's not just with the number of parasites that stalk your everyday life revealed. Great pace, rather addicting, and the kind of humour I like. One off because it was shoving evolution down my throat. Yeah, I'm 'uncomfortable' with it, but that's me. To each his/her own.
Recommended as a worthwhile vampire read.
