Dale and Tomias are best mates. They live at Long Hole community. The kids struggle with school, the trials of growing up, and parental expectations. Life itself is full of danger - from wild bushfires, crocodile-infested rivers and the thick bubbling ooze of the blood pit. As a back drop to the children’s stories there is the land itself - a magnificent landscape of fire and floodplain, unbearable heat and towering storms.

The Barrumbi kids: there is two kids In 6th grade and can’t help them self’s two wag school. When you are reading this book you can tell that they have done it before. When their parents find out that they have being wagging school they are not happy. Dale and Tomias are just trouble and don’t think before they do. They get other people to cover them of not getting in trouble. Like lizzie she always has to cover them and she obviously does not like doing it.
The author of this book is: Leonie Norringoton. She has made many of really good books.
