"There's no message, just a photo. Or rather a scan. A scan of part of a page of my diary. I think for a minute I am going to be sick and then I feel like I'm being watched. I actually look around the room for a second, as if I'm expecting someone to jump out, laughing."
How can Dan fall for Della, when someone, somewhere, is revealing all her deepest secrets?
'Della says: OMG!' by author Sally Heinrich is a really good book. Della, the protagonist, learns to live her life as a teenager, and experiences the changes that she has to go through. This book was one of the best i've ever read, and i don't read much because i find books kinda boring! but this book is deffinetly good. I would recommend this book to young female teenagers! :)
Della’s over the moon when she kisses her long-standing crush at a party – but then she discovers her diary has disappeared...
When scans of embarrassing pages are sent to her mobile and appear on Facebook, Della’s distraught – how can she enjoy her first proper romance when someone, somewhere, knows all her deepest, darkest secrets?
After reading Della says: OMG!, I have to admit, I'm pleasantly shocked. With a great combination of mystery, romance and comedy, this was a book I ended up reading under the covers at night!
The book kicks off with 17 year old Della getting ready for her sister's goodbye party. The party is wild - possibly a little TOO wild. After a while, things go from bad to worse, with her being kissed by her sister's boyfriend and then having to cop it from the school's mean girl, Gemima Lee. With (what feels like) her whole world collapsing around her, she finds the eye of her storm - Dan. The guy she has had a crush on for years, finally begins to notice her. Finally, after a good end to her terrible evening, Dan asks her out.
The next morning, she goes to write in her journal about Dan, but can't find it anywhere. The diary is missing - and it has all of her personal thoughts.
But who took her diary? The line of suspects gets longer and longer with each turn of a page.
A week later, things start turning up. A page is sent to her on Facebook, a page put into her friend's pocket, a text to Dan and a page on her parent's car - but who is doing it? Each page contains something that could hurt someone - and that is exactly what the thief has in mind.
I encourage girls 11+ to go and buy this book! It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you cringe - it has everything a good book should have! Not for younger readers though - innapropriate language and themes.
Overall, an AMAZING book! Hope you like it as much as I did!
