When i first saw The Host, i thought it'd be really good and intense, but after reading a couple of pages, it bored me. There was no such realism or cliff hangers, it was very predictable. To be honest, i only enjoyed the ten pages, after that? Nothing. Just bordem. It disappointed me, but some authors just have their ways of writing i guess.

Ok i hope this isn't a spoiler but will probably end up being one! The host is a amazing book, that beautiful writing captures your heat and imagination, you will find yourself laying in bed at night imagining all the amazing planets wanderer has lived on to crying over wes, ian, jared and so many more. Also laughing at wanderer's quite personality conflicting with mel's confident one! I know your thinking who are these people, but in the night you will stay up till 3am reading the host you will be falling in love with these characters and, yep, you will be up till all hours of the night with this book because you can not put it down.
Though a warning is issued about this book as you may through a hissy fit when you finish as there is no sequel. but a lot of you are thinking who cares? I'll just read it again and you will! The book 'the host' is Stephanie Myer's book and is her only book that is not related to her best sellers twilight, new moon, eclipse, breaking dawn,the short second life of bree tanner and latest twilight; the complete illustrated guide. Yes she branched out in this book and it payed off. THOUGH some flaws of the book where that like so many books it takes a while to get into, as the first couple of chapters drag on a bit but please keep reading as it will pay off.
The basic plot of 'the host' is wanderer the soul (alien) is put on earth now run by souls,and is put in the body of Melanie, but mel's not giving up, instead of being erased she is still there but is only a voice in the back of wanderer's mind. With mel longing for her love, jared wanderer falls in love too and an unlikely friendship is formed. They run away and find the humans in hiding and and then all sorts of things happen. Does Wanderer find herself a new home among humans or is she to feel more alian then ever? THAT for me to know and you to find out!
The Host is a book that will stay with you forever and is a must for book lovers!

The Host by Stephenie Meyer is a book set in the present. This book tells the story of Wanderer and Melanie two minds stuck in one body.
Aliens have invaded planet earth. They are doing what they have done to many other planets before. Take over and change it for the better. Except this is not what's happening on earth. Humans are going into hiding so they will not have a 'soul' placed into them. Wanderer is a well travelled soul, she has lived on 8 different planets taking over the bodies of 8 different creature before they died. Wanderer comes to earth and is placed in the body of Melanie. Wanderer was warned about the difficulties of being placed in a human were, strong emotions and the strong memories. But this time it's different, there is a problem with Wanderer's human host, a complication that is uncommon. Melanie refuses to let Wanderer have her mind. Now Melanie is occupying all of Wanderers thoughts. Melanie’s longing for something that she won't let Wanderer see. This secret is the thing that turns the enemies into allies.
This book is amazing. The characters are absolutely fantastic and it really makes you feel all the emotions the characters are feeling. I really enjoyed this book and even though it is a very thick book I was so engrossed in it I got through it really quickly. I would recommend this book to anyone over 12 who loves a good read and a great story.
