Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see.
a real page-turner. Extremly thrilling and will leave readers thirsty for more. utterly entertaining and completling engrossing. these are all great ways to describe the hunger games which is a story about young adults competing in a grotesk competition where the rules state only one will be able to leave alive.two young people from each district are given the chance to compete in this horrid game, the hunger games. using sponsours and fighting for their lives, the young people compete in the most respected game of their world.
the best book in the world if you like this youll also like the tomorrow when the war began series!
An original story that keeps you turning pages. I'm not going to say anything on the content, but it's got a good balance of romance, violence and adventure.
If you are into the dystopian society genre, this is a book you should read.
This book is absolutely one of the best I've ever read. I took it everywhere with me and didn't even feel satisfied finishing it! Suzanne created one of the most exhilarating series of books in my opinion.
In Katniss' world, the capitol holds 'The Hunger Games' each year. They choose two contestants (a boy and a girl) by a random dip. When Katniss' younger sister got summoned, Katniss found it none other than a death wish. So she volunteered. What is The Hunger Games? A long live battle till the death...the winner is the one who survives. The losers-die. During her journey, she meets her ally from her district. Peeta-the son of the baker. Through the process, the capitol held an interview for each contestant. Peeta states his undying love for Katniss. Real? or just for the audience?
On the battlefield, Katniss kills with a bow and arrow. Peeta has no upper-hand and relies on Katniss the whole time.
Lovely book. The tiniest hint of romance and action.
