After watching the movie of based on this novel I Am Number 4, I had to read this book. The book explained a lot of things that the movie couldn't. The genre of the book is action, adventure, science fiction, young adult and romance.
The planet Lorien was destroyed by the Mogadorians. 9 children with their guardian had to leave the planet and go into hiding on Earth. The 9 children, when they grow up were to defeat the Mogadorians with their supernatural powers and restore life on Lorien.
This book is about a teenager, John Smith, who lives in Paradise, Ohio with his guardian Henri. They live in a small town and hide their identities as they don't want to be found by the Mogadorians. John knows he is next to be hunted as three of the nine have been killed. He settles in Paradise and attends school as an average teenager. He falls in love with a girl named Sarah and made a friend named Sam. Outside of school he trains and develops his powers for when the real fight comes with the Mogadorians. What happens when John's identity is revealed? Will the Mogadorians find him before he leaves town?
I couldn't put the book down and each page was a cliff hanger. I Am Number 4 is only the first book and there are more to read. The next book is The Power of Six and the one after that is The Rise of Nine (more to come).

In terms of action, this book falls under epicus, I think. There was mostly always this undercurrent of tension, just keeping me on my toes as I waited for something to explode. The alien theme was also pretty awesome, so kudos to l'author for that. However, I have to admit I found the characters a little... annoying. Okay, really annoying. Maybe they're just being normal teenagers, and normal teenagers tend to frustrate me, but I found most of them exceptionally angsty and whiny and lovey-dovey, and with this looming problem of these fantastically creepy alien villains, I wanted to tell them to shut up and get on with it. That's just me, I think, but all in all it was an okay read.

I AM NUMBER FOUR is a magnificent book. It’s about nine alien kids with special powers or legacies. This book is for mature audiences. This book has a lot of character and problems that are faced in the real world with starting school and making friends. This book has a couple of Genres including sci-fi, drama, romance and action it is fantastic.
Leaving from their planet, they are hiding on Earth from the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians are monstrous aliens who want to kill them and destroy Earth like they destroyed Lorien. Each Lorien child was given an adult Garde (Guard) to teach and train him/her for the fight against the Mogadorians to take back Lorien. Three of the nine kids have been killed, and Number Four the main character is next to be killed.
What will happen next? Will all the Mogadorians win? Will the Loriens take back their planet?

I am Number Four is an action and adventure book, set in a small town called Paradise in Ohio. Four, or John, and his 'caretaker' Henry is currently in hiding from creatures of another planet. When he first arrived in Paradise, John met a girl called Sarah, and already he had a sort of crush on her. At this time he also starts developing powers, which can protect him from danger.
One, Two, and Three are dead. Number Four is next.
Will John die, or will something else happen?
Whatever is the ending, John knows that he can't hide forever.
