Meggie lives quietly with her father, Mo, a book-restorer. But a new chapter in her life begins the night a stranger called Dustfinger knocks at their door. It is soon revealed that Meggie's father has an extraordinary secret-he can bring books to life simply by reading aloud. Meggie learns that long ago, Mo read from a book called Inkheart, accidentally releasing the villainous book character, Capricorn, into the world. Now Capricorn has returned to ruthlessly destroy every last copy of the book-the only thing capable of binding his power. It will take all of Meggie's courage to send him back to the pages where he belongs.

''inkheart'' is a fiction book written by cornelia funke . Things became all mysterious when dust finger had knocked on the door of a family's house. the main thing they have to do is to hid the book form capricorn. years ago a father of a girl had somehow read out capricorn from a bookcalled inkheart. the reason why they must hid the book beacause capricorn wants to burn it.  and the book is the only way to get capricorn back in the book.

I love Inkheart it  is one of  my  favourite books of all time. Inkheart is an enchanting story of a man called Mo who realised he coud bring characters to life just by reading about them, but in return somthing else had to go back in and unlike the charcter he brought  out he had no control over what would replace it. When Meggie was little her father (Mo) would never read out loud to her, no matter how much she begged or pleaded he would not budge. But while Meggie figured out  her fathers big secret, things started happening... magical things started happening.    The story of Inkheart is woven with delicate care and thought by the author and is a great tale to be read or told.

Inkheart is a well written fantasy novel by Cornelia Funke. It begins when a child named Meggie and her parents are reading a book. They don't realise with every word spoken this book comes to life. So Meggie and her father set off to set things right. Aso along the journey they meet lots of mythical creatures some friendly and some not so friendly.

What will happen will Meggie and her father save the day or will they be doomed.

I would recommend it as a great family novel. It is also first of the great trioligy by Cornelia Funke also with Inkspell than Inkdeath. I would recommend it for the ages of 9+.

This book is about a young girl called Meggie and her dad (Mo) who live a great life filled with books. One night someone Meggie has never seen before (Dustfinger) shows up out of nowhere. Her dad starts acting weird and says they have to leave quickly. It turns out that Meggie's dad can read characters out of books, and one of them (Capricorn) is looking for him again after all these years. He wants to destroy all copies of the book he came out of (Inkheart) so he never has to go back there again. He has all copies except Meggie and her dad's.
