Never have Aman and his mother needed a friend than when a springer spaniel appears in the mouth of their Afghan cave. Nursed back to health by Aman, the dog becomes a constant companion, a shadow, and that's what Aman decides to call her.

But life in Afghanitan becomes dangerous by the moment. Eventually, Aman, his mother and Shadow find the courage to leave. But how far can Shadow lead them? And in this new world, is anything really safe?

After the Taliban came and destroyed their home and killed their dad, the only thing Aman and his mum want is a friend. Someone to help them on their journey. Someone to guide them to safety. 

Set in Afghanistan when the Taliban are invading, Aman and his mum try to flee to England where Uncle Mir is living. After getting help from Uncle Mir's friends things start to turn bad as the everyone wants Shadow. 

As Shadow finds her original owners Aman finds it hard to leave her behind. An elderly couple helps Aman and his mother make it in to England were they live happily with Uncle Mir........ OR IS IT?

6 years and 4 months later Aman and his mother find themselfs in a detension prison. Matt, Aman's best friend from school sends his Grandpa in to see if Aman's alright. But after Aman telling Matt's Grandpa the whole tormenting trip coming to England he try's to help them from being flown back to Afghanistan. But does he go or stay?

this book is great it is soo adicting i didnt put it down for days it gives you the feeling how aman feels and his mother 


i highly recomend this book for ages 8 9 10 itis my favarite book ever so i would reed it...
