On the outside, Macy Queen is cool and calm. On the inside, she's breaking. Silently struggling with her Dad's death, and spending the summer apart from her oh-so-perfect boyfriend, Macy is smiling her way through - she's 'fine'. It's only when she meets a group of new friends - and artistic, sexy Wes catches her eye - she realizes she can wear her heart on her sleeve sometimes. Because life doesn't stop when someone disappears - and even though she's lost so much, can Macy see what she has to gain?

This was my first Sarah Dessen book and I am happy it was because this book made me fall in love with Sarah Dessen's writing. An amazing novel.

Although I've tried to read it several times, this book didn't really grip me. I got about a third of the way into the book and I actually couldn't read it anymore because I was so bored. Maybe I should try reading it again?

The Truth About Forever is about a teenage girl called Macy who has her life pretty much planned for her. One day when Macy's mum has a opening of her new townhouse, she meets Wes, a boy whose family caters for her mum. Wes is completely different to the people Macy talks to, he has tattoes, is into dangerous sports, is very artistic...but there is something about Wes that makes Macy want to tell him all her deepest secrets, look at the world in a different way, learn to try new things and is understanding. Its a really good book! I'd recommend it to anyone.

I found the truth about forever to be a very engaging book (engaging enough for me to finish it within 3 days anyway).  I found it easy to slip into the shoes of the main character, even though I hadn’t been through anything like what Macy had. I also liked the way the author allowed you to come up with your own image of the characters, while still telling you about their personality.  Overall the truth about forever is a terrific story that will stick in your memory long after you’ve read it.  Happy Reading ! =]
