It’s 2075. Anaximander is a young Academy student, and she being examined. Her special subject is the life of Adam Forde. Through Anaximander’s answers, we start to learn more about the world we’re in. After a great war, a man named Plato fled to a tiny island and set up The Republic – sealed off from the rest of the world with a fence, mines, and sentry guards, two per tower. The first guard’s job is to shoot any approaching refugees on sight. The second guard is there to shoot the first, should he hesitate to carry out his task. One such guard was Adam Forde.
This incredible book is about what it means to be human.
