Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac, Gabrielle Zevin

For the first time, I allowed for the possibility that I had forgotton everything from the last four years.
I tried to remember the last thing I could remember. This turns out to be an incredibly difficult task because your brain is constantly making new memories. What came to mind was uselessly recent: my blood on James's collar.

Naomi loses a bet, falls down some stairs and loses her memory. As she readjusts to her old life, she wonders how she became the person she seems to be. Why does she have a jock boyfriend who can’t hold up his end of a conversation? Why has she love working on the yearbook committee so much? And why is nerdy, weird Will her best friend? A funny, sad, and touching book about reinvention, rediscovery, and looking at things with new eyes.

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac is longlisted for the Silver Inky.
