Aidan

Hmm. Where to begin.  I’m Aidan, 14 and live in Gladstone, QLD.  I used to think it was pathetic and small but I’ve learned to love it.  It’s my home now and its great.  I’m an avid reader and I’m still unsure why or how I was picked for this… Not complaining though.  I love the Japanese language culture and I’m going to be an exchange student to Japan from March to January. I’m so excited.  I also love to listen to music, though my taste is a little unusual.  My favourite band has to be t.A.T.u.  My favourite show is Doctor Who.  I’m a bit of a nerd, but oh well.  I love to read books by Dean Koontz, Eoin Colfer and Steven King and mangas (Japanese comics).
 
Your favourite book as a child?

Green Smoke by Rosemary Manning.  It’s this old book dad gave to me when I was first learning to read.

What's a book that made you cry?

Books don’t tend to make me cry, but I had to read Arthur Miller’s The Crucible for English, and that made me.

A book that made you laugh?

If mangas count, Negima (every volume makes me),

What are you currently reading?

No actual books right now because I just finished my Legal Studies assignment, but Negima volume 9 by Ken Akamatsu.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

Not that I remember… I really hope not.

What’s your favourite reading place?

My bed, especially if it’s cold.

Who is the author you’d most like to meet? (living or dead)

Well, I’d like to meet Margaret Clark again, but I’d most like to meet Philip Pullman.

Favourite book-to-film adaptation?

The films are never as good as the book.  I think my favourite would have to be Misery by Stephen King.  Kathy Bates makes a mighty scary Annie.

On a quiz show, your special subject would be:

Revamped series 1-3 of Doctor Who.  I’m a total Doctor Who nerd.

And what are you generally doing when you're not reading?

I’m usually on the net, texting someone or sleeping.  Or eating.
