Voting will open on October 12 when the Inkys shortlists are chosen by our judges and annnounced. Our judges this year are authors Randa Abdel-Fattah and Andrew McDonald and teenagers Broede Carmody, Esther Crowley, Hamish Knowles and Grace Bell.

As well as the Gold and Silver Inkys, there is also a Creative Reading Prize, won by a young person for a creative response to a book they love. This year the prize is an iPad!!! Creative responses can take any form including short story, song, video, poem, illustration, artwork or even a cupcake. The iPad prize will be awarded to our favourite entry that comes from someone under the age of 20. Check out the full details here.

The 2010 Inky Awards Longlist will be announced on Wednesday 1 September, at the Melbourne Writers Festival, at 11am in the Atrium at Federation Square. All are welcome!

And the longlist will also be right here on the website, hopefully at the same time.
